Wells CRS and OCS partnership brings LEGOLAND Windsor’s Coastguard HQ back online
A well-loved family attraction at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is back in action thanks to a collaborative effort between commercial refurbishment specialists Wells CRS and facilities management giant OCS.
The successful repair of the Coastguard HQ ride marks the latest success story in a flourishing ten-year partnership between the two companies.
OCS recently commenced an integrated facilities management contract across many of Merlin Entertainments’ UK sites.
Leveraging their long-standing relationship, OCS called upon Teesside-based Wells CRS as an approved contractor to carry out essential repairs to ensure the popular water ride was ready for visitors.
Garry Wells, co-director of Wells CRS, said: “As an approved contractor with OCS, they had an issue where they needed a ride repaired and completed before the opening of the ride in 2026.
On budget
“Wells CRS sent a team of four to six guys to repair the bump rails and weather board in the river for Coastguard HQ. The whole thing had to be drained for our guys to get in and replace the bump rails – it was done on time and done on budget.”
The success at Coastguard HQ quickly paved the way for further projects across the resort and beyond.
“That was the first project with Merlin we have done for OCS,” Garry said. “We were then asked to replace flooring in the Skyline Bar, and we are also doing flooring in the Hungry Troll restaurant.
“In between this, we were doing minor repairs to 72 lodges at LEGOLAND Windsor’s Woodland Village. We have also worked at Cadbury World on electrical works for Merlin and OCS, and this all started at the beginning of 2026.”
Collaboration
The collaboration shows no signs of slowing down and at the heart of this success is a decade-long partnership built on reliability, mutual respect and seamless communication.

This sentiment is echoed by the Wells CRS team, who pride themselves on their close working dynamic with OCS managers, including Craig Parrish, facilities maintenance manager Gary Sigrist, facilities contractor works manager Andrew Coburn and Legoland’s facilities systems manager David Glassey.
Garry said: “The long-term partnership with OCS we have means there is mutual respect on both sides.
“Higher management calls us when we are needed, and we are always delivering. They know us and our staff by name, and ring me personally because that is the kind of relationship we want – a personal touch.
“When we send engineers, we want OCS to know them by name. If we have an engineer familiar with a site, we will always try to send the same engineers back because they know the health and safety set-up. It works.”
Over the past ten years, Wells CRS has delivered a vast array of services for OCS across diverse sectors, including full refurbishments, plumbing, electrics and groundworks.
High-profile projects
Previous high-profile projects include work at a laboratory near Wembley, the Eat Natural protein bars and Ferrero Rocher factories and for GKN Aerospace.
